A MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

High profile tv placements create usable content for young artists to share via social media

Mentoring, studio access, production, mixing, mastering, artwork, prs sign up fees and release on all online platforms come completely free to the young artist

In return production music companies receive authentic new music from young artists that would not normally reach their professional networks

2022

WE consolidated our relationship with BMG and delivering an impressive amount of new music to their catalogue

In 2022 we aim released over 44 tracks with new young artists

Due to a new deal structure specific to the project this represented over £11k in non-recoupable up-front payments to young people

We continue to run high profile showcase events which have a proven track record of attracting a broad range of media professionals.

2023

We moved into our new home - Studio 36 based at Earth in hackney.

WHilst continuing to develop new singers and rappers we brought more young producers on board

In 2023 we released another 46 tracks with young artists and producers including a collaborative album with Spanish language artists in London and Spain.

We also provided career development opportunities for artists who had previously released with us as songwriters and session singers.

2024

As more and more tracks are used from the catalogue our artists continue to develop their careers from the springboard that our project created

One of the first artists on our programme, Black Roses used Expand Access’ initial opportunity to win a further grant to be able to travel to LA and take part in writing and recording sessions

We took two young artists, Blewska and Trillzino to the Great Escape festival in Brighton to headline a showcase event

We are working on 35 new pieces of music, running a writers’ camp and managing various colloborations between young people and established BMG writers - Aidan Lavelle, Charlie Drew and Sam Frank

A REAL STEP FORWARD

Far from a token PR exercise, BMG Production Music is putting actual investment into helping make the music industry more inclusive, more accessible and more representative of the amazing diversity and talent in this country and beyond.

FOR YOUNG ARTISTS AND COMMUNITY GROUPS

Here is a brief explainer of how production music deals work:

PM-Explainer_bmgpmchevron-1.jpg

Like many music companies, BMG has a dedicated library music catalogue made specifically for use in TV, film, radio, advertising, video games and online productions.

BMG Production Music pays for artists to make tracks for their library. They offer all kinds of music that content creators need for their media projects.

Artists receive an upfront fee for their recordings and agree to split future royalties with BMGPM in return for their services as a publisher.

Artists get a full digital release on streaming services and their music becomes available for synch on BMGPM’sdedicated music search platform.

Production music companies work hard to get your music used as much as possible in TV shows, films and online content. They are compensated for this work by their agreed share of the royalties that are paid every time your music is used.

Royalties are collected every time a track is used in media and paid through in regular statements.
