“Completely different to learning music when I was a kid. Really fun also to do it with friends and colleagues. All in all a great experience!”
We’ve taken away all the barriers to music-making to create satisfying creative experiences for anyone from total beginners to classically trained musicians.
You’ll have to try pretty hard not to enjoy knocking out beats with your workmates!
The creation of music stimulates many areas of the brain simultaneously, firing up our emotions and our analytical powers. There is a huge wealth of data that suggests that engagement with music making can bring the following benefits:
Improved mood and confidence
Improved memory and cognitive function
Reduced Stress and anxiety
Strengthened social bonds and increased empathy
Increased cooperation with others
Stimulation of the dopamine ‘reward’ centre of the brain in the same way as alcohol of chocolate!
Expand is the first music education company to offer collaborative music sessions in the workplace. We are completely flexible around an individual or company’s needs.
We can run up to 5 sessions per day for up to 8 people at a time.
We are open to delivering one-off sessions or regular scheduled lessons.
We both make and play music every day and when we’re not doing that we’re teaching music, which is just as much fun. Over the past 12 years we’ve taught every age group and background in every situation from primary schools to referral units for excluded teenagers. Each one has its own set of challenges and rewards but none of them quite prepared us for how enjoyable working with teams of professionals was going to be!
There is something very special about using music to bring a team together, watching them physically and mentally relax around each other and bond as a group. You start out with a team of well-behaved adults and end up with a load of people dancing round a room to music they have just created.
“You can really feel Niall and Tobias’ passion for music and that made us passionate as well. It was a privilege to work with musicians and make music that we would never normally be able to create. Loved it! ”
